The Organization:
Founded in 1955 as the Lutheran Sunset Home of Saskatoon, LutherCare Communities provides excellence in care, housing, and community services within a nurturing Christian environment.
The Position:
Responsible for the overall development, coordination and implementation of training programs and wellness services within the Home Support Program. The Wellness Coordinators responsibilities include monitoring and participating in the wellness and foot care programs for all LutherCare Communities sites, the development and continual coordination of training programs for LutherCare Communities and the general public, as well as acting as LutherCares Parish Nurse.
The Applicants:
Applicants qualifying for this position must be a graduate of a recognized school of nursing, have a certificate in Foot Care, and be currently licensed and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA). The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years of experience in: community health & gerontology nursing, and providing and administering educational training programs (such as the Personal Care Worker Course) as well as a minimum of one year of experience providing foot care. A valid drivers license and access to a vehicle and insurance are requirements. Applicants will have the ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English as well as be familiar with the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of aging as they affect health and lifestyle. Knowledge of dementia care is an asset.
