Cellblock Matron/Guard

The Prince Albert Police Service is inviting applications from qualified persons for the casual position of Matron/Guard.  This position is responsible for the custodial supervision of prisoners while in police custody.  The position of Cell Block Matron/Guard includes some light housekeeping, meal distribution, searching prisoners, prisoner effects documentation and other duties as assigned.  

This position is shift work in eight hour shifts and on a rotating call out basis as required.

Qualifications and skills the successful candidate will bring to the position include:
    Professional attitude
    Ability to work independently and organize workload in a multi-task environment.
    Demonstrate the ability to articulate, express verbally and with clear diction.
    Must deal effectively and tactfully with the public
    Previous experience would be an asset
