Description

The Radiation Oncologist is responsible for consultative, teaching, research and service duties in Radiation Oncology within the Saskatchewan
Cancer Agency.

The department of Radiation Oncology at the Allan Cancer Centre has a team of six Radiation Oncologists and a Clinical Associate who work with a multidisciplinary team of medical oncologists, pediatric oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists, nurses, pharmacists,social workers, volunteers, and a palliative care team to provide safe, patient-centered care. Participation in clinical trials in collaboration with NCCTG, NCIC, COG and RTOG is a major focus of activity for our oncologists in addition to teaching medical students and postgraduate residents enrolled at the College of Medicine of the University of Saskatchewan.  Radiation Oncologists receive an academic appointment in the Division of Oncology, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and privileges with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region.

The department is equipped with three matched dual energy (6 and 16 MV) linear accelerators with MLC, OBI and cone beam imaging, CT simulator
and Pinnacle treatment planning system. We have an active IMRT program.

Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who are certified in Radiation Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, but
applicants with equivalent foreign qualifications will be considered. Successful applicants will be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, preference will be give to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
