Description

Duties and responsibilities:
Provide individual or group assistance to individuals with varying abilities, as scheduled and in accordance with the Personal Program Plan and/or Comprehensive Behavior Support Plan, in both facility and community-based settings and in the following areas: life skill development, job skill development, vocational, recreational and leisure activities.
Duties include:
-   Collaborate with Program and Training Centre staff to provide quality programs and activities for clients.
-   Contact agencies, organizations and businesses for the purpose of gathering information and scheduling community activities, work placements, guest speakers and entertainers.
-   Develop and follow a weekly work schedule which may include evening and weekend work
-   Provide supervision of clients while participating in community and/or in-centre activities
-   Transport clients to community activities
-   Promote, instruct and model acceptable social behaviour for quality of life and training
-   Maintain client records including attendance, goals, programs and activities.
-  If required assist clients with personal care to promote good hygiene
-   Contribute and review personal program plans to ensure the objectives of the program and the goals of the clients are being met.
-   Encourage client in the areas of self-care, communication, socialization, recreation and participation to promote independence and self esteem.
Qualifications:
   Education:
-   Disability Support Worker Certificate (Rehabilitation Worker Certificate) or Life Skills Coach and/or related training and experience.
-   Valid Class 5 drivers license.
-   First Aid and CPR certification.
-   Crisis Intervention techniques. (certificate)
   Experience:
-   One year experience in related field
