Key Business Accountabilities:
-Assists in the timely harvesting of canola plots or nurseries.
-Follows ESH policies and procedures for safe operation of the local research facilityand program
-Safely operate and maintain plot equipment and vehicles (trucks and trailers)
Scope of the Job:
-Committed to safe work practices and has direct involvement in ESH programs and policies including site inspections, pre-use inspections, vehicle logbooks, etc.
-Operate plot combines with onboard electronic weight and sampling equipment to harvest plots and collect samples for quality analysis
-Long hours outdoors working at field trial sites, with physical labor component(lifting, bending, walking)
Core Business/Functional Skills and Education Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Canadian crop production and farming practices and farm equipment operation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, well organized
- Computer proficiency and previous experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work long hours and manage seasonal OT in accordance with applicable regulations
