Description

The Outreach Advocate works under the general direction of the Executive Director and works closely with Domestic Violence Counsellors and Childrens Counsellors to be a voice for clients.  The Outreach Advocate is responsible for developing and implementing a housing assistance program and maintaining an existing outreach program that provides follow-up support and programming for clients after their shelter stay.  The incumbent is responsible for developing and maintaining community connections and for providing public education.

The Outreach Advocate will demonstrate leadership, constructive relationship building and team-building skills.  The incumbent will be organized and able to deal with multiple responsibilities and deadlines, able to plan and execute strategies, contribute to the organizations internal capacity and overall strategic direction.  

The Outreach Advocate is responsible for all aspects of client outreach programming. The incumbent is responsible for identifying housing opportunities and working through barriers in order to secure and maintain housing for women when they are ready to leave shelter.   The Outreach Advocate will be responsible for outreach and follow-up programming that is focused on client need and that is culturally respectful and responsive.

The incumbent will be flexible with her work hours in order to meet the needs of the organization.
