Manager/Job Coach, Creighton Work Prep Centre

The Creighton Work Prep Centre (CWPC) will assist individuals from the northeastern region of Saskatchewan who are seeking employment, training and/or careers. The CWPC will provide services to both those who are ready to work and to those needing some basic assistance. SIIT is seeking a qualified individual to lead and manage the CWPC.
Duties:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Creighton Work Prep Center including staff and contract instructors.
Provide job coaching to clients as required.
Coordinate client access to essential skill, employability and academic preparation programming, basic skill development, safety training, and driver license training.
Develop and maintain close connections with potential employers in the region to promote the employment of clients registered with the Centre.
Work closely with the Steering Committee partners to maximize the effectiveness of the CWPC.
Develop reports as requested.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in labour market development: post-secondary certification in a related discipline would be an asset.
Experience teaching or mentoring First Nation adults.
Training or experience in client assessment and alternative programming is an asset.
A good understanding of what it takes to get and keep a job as well as a good understanding of the labour market in the northeastern region of Saskatchewan.
Work experience in a small office environment and expertise with MS Word and Excel.
Task oriented and well organized with the ability to work independently within a small office environment that requires a dynamic team approach.
Knowledge of a First Nation language or culture. Ability to speak Cree would be an asset.
Location and Dates: Creighton, SK. Starting date is October 1, 2014.
The position requires a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle.
