Description

Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday 8:00am  5:00 pm and also involves occasional evening and weekend work beginning September.

Primary Purpose:
To perform all manner of basic to intermediate cooking, cleaning and customer service duties where applicable to food services within STM College. The position also provides leadership to casual staff.

Nature of Work:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the General Cook follows the work schedules provided under moderate supervision.  Workloads may vary, depending upon additional food services and catering events.

Accountabilities:

The General Cook is accountable for proper handling of all food items in accordance with health regulations. Efficient and courteous customer service is required.  Occasionally this position is called upon to direct the work of casual staff.  The Cook is responsible for the handling and cleaning of all food services equipment and for maintaining cleanliness in the Food Services area.
