Description

Plains Midstream Canada is in the design phase of a new Rail Terminal Facility near Kerrobert, SK.  Construction will commence in September 2014 with commissioning scheduled for mid-year 2015.  Our Facility will operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; shift work (12 hour shifts) will be required.  We are currently looking to fill the position of Rail Engineer / Brakeman (m/f) reporting to the Supervisor, Yard Movements.

Responsibilities:
The safe, timely and efficient shuttling of unit trains at the Kerrobert Rail Terminal and coupling/uncoupling and shunting of rail cars within the rail yard
Ensure proper railcar securement
Coordination with CP Rail personnel regarding handover of unloaded/loaded unit trains
Ensuring adherence to safety standards in accordance with company policy and legislated requirements
Liaising with other site personnel and maintenance on matters relating to train movements at the Facility
Data compilation and report preparation
Other duties as required to support activities within his/her area or other areas within the Facility

Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12
Completion of a recognized training program and certified as a locomotive engineer
Demonstrated experience as a locomotive engineer preferably in a crude oil loading facility
Strong safety orientation
Solid knowledge of government regulations relating to rail operations
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with external organizations, vendors and agencies
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work rotating shifts(days and nights)
Successful candidates will be required to complete a post-offer, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test
