Description

This full time 4-month term position will be responsible for providing administrative support services, event implementation, shelter services & shelter backup support.  The position will be reviewed at the end of the 4 month term with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:
- Administrative support for South West Crisis Services ensuring effective operations are maintained.
- Organize & implement fundraising and/or events to ensure financial support & awareness of programs and services.
- Provide safe shelter & crisis line support to individuals experiencing interpersonal violence. Participate in shelter support worker shift on a rotational basis as required. (Shifts may include day, afternoon and overnight of up to 10 hours)
- Provide backup-on call collaborative support to shelter staff in the event of emergencies, crisis, or out of the ordinary incidents.

Qualifications:
- At least one year post-secondary education in Business or Office Administration or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- At least one year post-secondary education in a Human Services field or equivalent combination of relevant education & experience
- Attention to detail & analytical skills are required
- An understanding of and issues facing families in the southwest, particularly those related to interpersonal violence
- Superior communication & organizational skills
- A proven ability to work independently & in groups
- Competency in the use of common business software & basic computer operations
- Experienced in office procedures including bookkeeping, filing, data entry & statistical reporting
- A valid driver's license & ability to travel
- Ability to lift & carry loads of up to 15 kg
- Willingness & ability to work flexible hours & all shifts (up to 10 hours)
A Criminal Record Check will be required of the selected candidate as part of the hiring process

Rate: $17.00/hr as well addditional Emergency Back-up Worker rate based on hours scheduled.
