Description

Our Kindersley, SK location is currently seeking an Apprentice Mechanic for their shop; the Apprentice Mechanic is responsible to assist in the maintenance and repair of all Heavy Handling units including Tractors, Trailers, and loaders. This position may be required to work overtime and will be responsible to maintain company equipment both in the branch office/yard as well as to respond to service calls in various remote locations and client sites..

Key responsibilities:

Perform all required maintenance and repairs to various types of rental equipment while working within the budget provided to you by management
Perform maintenance which follows the manufacturer guidelines for service times and inspections by requesting additional information, as required, from the establishment in which the equipment was purchased
Ensure all equipment in need for repair has been approved for repair by the Shop Superintendent or Branch Management
Respond to client and staff service phone calls in the office and/or shop and discuss maintenance and repair decisions with Shop Superintendent, as required, to ensure seamless communication and to keep management up to date on any issues
Ensure expected completion timelines for various repairs are met and that equipment is repaired and sent out in a timely manner
Timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork such as Work Orders, Inspections, and Inventory Sheets
Ensure the shop area is kept clean, tidy and free of hazards at all times as per office expectations, reporting all hazards and near misses as appropriate

Key qualifications:

High School Diploma and currently in training for a Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Trades Certification
Minimum 1 year experience in a shop environment and experience working on and/or around Heavy Duty equipment and repairs
Valid class 5 licenses with a clean 5 year drivers abstract;
