Unit Managers - Are responsible for overseeing day to day operations within a specific part of the hog production unit (ie. breeding, farrowing, nursery). Unit managers should be skilled at all activities relating to their area of the unit, working without direct supervision. Working under the guidance of the manager and / or assistant manager of the farm, the unit manager is responsible for the supervision and training of up to 5 staff members in their area of the barn. In addition unit managers may be more actively involved in farm production record keeping, actively managing and ordering supplies.
