Description

Reporting to the Crush Plant Supervisor, the Meal Plant Operator is responsible for the  safe and efficient operation of the Meal Processing and Pellet Plant area and all related equipment.
Key Role and Responsibilities:
-Collect and prepare process samples for analysis and perform product testing as required.          
-Accurately record and monitor process conditions and events that have and will affect production, informing the relieving operator and supervisor as required.
-Keep accurate record of plant operation for guidance of relieving operator.
-Inspect and maintain all process equipment under his/her control for possible failures or malfunction.                                                                                                    
-Maintain proper housekeeping in meal plant and surrounding area.
-Ensure sizing of meal is to an acceptable standard.
-Assist Crush and Solvent operator on start up or other process upsets.
-Oversee the production and cooling of high quality pellets.
-Inspect and fill railcars with meal or pellets to an acceptable standard.
-Operate the Formaldehyde system and unloading of chemical (Termin-8) trucks, following all safety procedures and the wearing of proper PPE.
-Ensure proper scale operation/weighing of trucks at the elevator during off hours.
Skills and Experience:
-Background knowledge of the agricultural sector would be considered an asset.
-Ability to recognize issues with processing equipment.
-Mechanical aptitude; ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.
-Must be able to work from heights and in confined spaces.
-Flexibility to work overtime based on facility demands
