Verb, a citywide arts and culture magazine in Saskatoon and Regina, is looking for an energetic, positive and creative person to fill the position of graphic designer in our Saskatoon office.
A bit about us: Verb is Saskatchewan's fastest-growing arts, culture, and news magazine, started by three twenty-somethings in Saskatoon about six years ago, and in Regina in late 2011.
A bit about you: We're looking for a smart, self-motivated individual to create eye-catching advertisements for Verb's diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will also lay out the magazine for production, and be involved in other creative projects for the company. He or she must be highly proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite programs, have a strong grasp of the elements and principles of design, be detail-oriented with a strong working knowledge of typography and grid systems, and have a strong interest in visual problem-solving and advertising. Experience or training in effective ad design is a plus, and customer service skills are a must. A design-related diploma or degree, or equivalent working experience, is required.
A bit about the job: The position will be full-time, and perks include full health benefits, a competitive salary, and a great working environment.
Interested? Please submit a resume and a PDF portfolio to apply@verbnews.com by August 27, 2014 to be considered. Only successful applicants will be contacted. The position may be filled before the deadline.
