Department: Community Development
Direct Supervisor: Director of Leadership Development
Wage: Ranges between $16-17/ hr (approx. 20 hours per week)

The YMCA of Regina is expanding and creating a Youth Leadership Team! A Leadership Development Coordinator is being hired to assist the Director in their responsibilities. This Coordinator position will  help administer two YMCA programs: Beyond The Bell & Tomorrows Ys Leaders.

Beyond The Bell:
    Is based out of Arcola and Albert Community Schools (M-F:  3:00- 6:00)
    Designed for youth grades 1-6
    An after-school program which incorporates numeracy, literacy, leadership development, recreation and healthy lifestyles into its program plans

Tomorrows Ys Leaders (TYL):
    Runs at the Downtown YMCA from 6:30- 8:30 on Tuesdays & Thursday evenings  (Oct- May)
    Designed for Teens ages 13-18
    An evening program which provides mentorship to Aboriginal youth
    Focused on leadership development, employment readiness, life skills & recreation

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-    Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn
-    Self- motivated, be able to work independently and part of a team
-    Past experience working  in literacy or leadership development programs
-    Proven ability to supervise staff and manage groups of youth ages 6-18
-    Ability to understand program objectives and implement plans that reflect programs goals
-    Strong program management, organizational and administration skills
-    Able to produce a Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
-    First Aid & CPR are an asset, as well as knowledge of aboriginal culture and the specific needs of Reginas core communities
-    Demonstrate ability to be a positive role model and a supervisor to other Leadership Staff
-    Availability between 3-6:00 M/W/F & 3- 9:00 T/R.
