Description

The City of Estevan is looking for an independent and self-motivated professional to guide Estevan Fire & Rescue Services into the coming years. The future Fire Chief would be capable of developing and leading a strong team responsible for the safety of our community. Whether on the scene of an accident, leading disaster relief efforts, or simply making a public appearance, the Fire Chief is a leader, mentor, and role model.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*    Responding to, and providing leadership at, various emergency scenes.
*    Investigating the cause of such emergencies.
*    Developing short and long term Strategic Operational plans.
*    Researching, developing, and implementing policies and procedures.
*    Consulting with a variety of stakeholders.
*    Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Firefighter Code of Practice, and all other relevant legislation.

This position requires:
*    A University Degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent.
*    NFPA 1001 Level 2 or Higher
*    Completion of either IFSAC or ProBoard Certification to Fire Officer, Level III and Incident Safety Officer
*    Seven years of relevant experience including five years in a senior management capacity.
*    Progressively responsible command experience.
