Foxs home office is located in Cranbrook, BC at the address listed below. Driving routes will mostly be from Saskatchewan, Alberta Manitoba and Ontario to the USA. The driver must be able to enter the USA and be knowledgeable or willing to understand how to cross the border. Job duties may include:
Operate and drive class one semi trucks to transport goods and materials
Operate highway tractor moving and general flat-deck and step-deck freight.
Loading and unloading of goods
Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Plan travel schedules and routes
Use atlases and other trip planning aids
Receive and relay information to central dispatcher
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform brake adjustments
Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
Perform preventive maintenance
Requirements:
Education: No formal education required.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in the above job duties is required.
Canadian Driver's License Class 1 and Air brakes Endorsement is required or candidates must be willing to obtain.
Valid passport.
Wage paid will depend on experience and individual employment contract signed. Work can be paid by mile driven or at an hourly rate ranging from $25.00 to $33.00. Typically 50-60 hours of work each week with overtime being paid for anything worked over 60 hours, as per federal trucking labour standards.
