Tron Power is seeking Construction Safety Officers (CSO) for McArthur River Mine. Reporting to the OH&S Manager, the Safety Coordinator will provide Occupational Health and Safety information and co-ordinate OH&S requirements for the McArthur River site, with reporting to Tron Main office.
Responsibilities:
*Undertake the investigation of accidents, incidents or near misses to determine the underlying causes.
*Complete the necessary forms to document incidents immediately.
*Recommend disciplinary action when necessary to ensure compliance with the rules.
*Conduct regular on-site hazard Inspections, identify hazards, unsafe work practices and provide recommendations on how to eliminate these issues.
*Provide each employee with information regarding hazards on the job site and how to avoid them.
*Provide safe working conditions for all workers.
*Maintain good housekeeping on all sites.
*Provide site orientations for company employees and sub-trade workers.
*Ensure all paperwork regarding safety is filled out on each shift.
*Maintain all Safety bulletins by posting Safety posters, rules and regulations, etc., Keep e-mail copies of hazard assessments, safety inspections (Pre job, ladder fire extinguishers, confined Space permit, etc.) for Sub trades and Tron power employees.
*Organize, conduct and document all safety meetings with workers.
*Knowledge of Industrial mechanical, electrical and construction experience will be an asset.
Qualifications:
*The successful candidate will have demonstrated working knowledge of provincial safety codes/regulations, along with minimum 2-3 years construction industry experience.
*Construction Safety Officer Certificate (CSO), and/or NCSO
*Excellent communication and good computer skills are essential.
*Completed grade 12 or equivalent.
