Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal I&C Engineer located at our Saskatoon, SK office. Reporting to the Manager, Electrical/I&C Engineering and working alongside other team members locally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support to a wide variety of project reviews and departmental functions.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing project documents for technical accuracy, presentation, and scope; participates in project engineering reviews
Participating in project meetings; formulation and subsequent implementation of engineering procedures and standards for the Saskatoon office
Promoting and monitoring compliance with AMEC quality assurance procedures for project work
Providing engineering guidance to the design office, and field support to on-site personnel and the construction management team
Coaching and mentoring engineers, designers, and individuals who are new to discipline lead roles
Role Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or higher, with speciality in Instrumentation and Controls; potash experience would be an asset
Minimum 15 years of related experience in leadership or package reviews on mining and/or heavy industrial EPCM projects
Professional Affiliation (P. Eng) in Saskatchewan, or eligible to register with the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and permission to consult in Saskatchewan
Broad knowledge of I&C designs and an understanding of industry codes, standards, equipment selection, specification development, and construction methods
Extensive experience with in-line instruments and instruments associated with rotating and heavy industrial equipment; familiar with DCS, PLCs, and industrial networking
Familiar with production of instrumentation and controls deliverables, including P&ID development, loop drawings, wiring details, control narratives, and scopes of work
