Description

JOB SUMMARY: This is a 10 month Contract.  The Head Start Teacher is a support position under the direct supervision of the Principal of CCEC and Education Director Services. The Head Start Teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of educational programs for appropriate age groups in the Head Start program. The Head Start Teacher will also work with other resources within the community to enhance the development of the Head Start students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Responsible for preparing activity program based on the Head Start goals and philosophy.
- Responsible for effective administration, educational programming for appropriate age level including budget preparation with the understanding of funding agency protocols.
-Must have a minimum of five (5) years of proven managerial and supervisory experience and administrative background.
- Ability to understand the growth and development of school age children.
- Must possess the knowledge of how a First Nation administration is operated and administered.
- Must know provincial and federal government programs and policies.
- Have the ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
- Must be well organized, punctual, dependable, and reliable and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential.
- Strong traits to lead and work professionally with Teachers and Students to promote and deliver progressive, innovated and inclusive educational programming;
- Submit Criminal Record Check (CRC ? Vulnerable Sector) with application and;
- Volunteer Drug screen to be submitted.
