EDUCATION:
- Youth Care Worker Diploma and/or combination of relevant education, training and/or experience
- Experience working in a residential setting
- Knowledge of First Nations Culture, Values, and Traditions
- Knowledge of the Child & Family Services Act
- Able to establish healthy & respectful relationships with children & youth
- Able to work as a team member
- Able to work with high risk youth
- Professionalism, maturity and flexibility
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- Satisfactory Automated Child Index
- Prohibited Drug Test Report
- Fingerprinted Criminal Records Check
- Driver's License
- Submission of a Drivers Abstract
- Ability to obtain Commercial Auto Insurance Coverage
- First Aid/CPR
- Willing to work shift work including evening and weekends
- Able to lift
MAIN DUTIES:
- Monitor youth on a regular basis throughout shift
- Primary responsibility for timely, accurate and complete recording of information required for individual care plans and case work activities for each youth during their time in the facility.
- Implement program policies and operating standards that conform to the principles of best practice approved by 4DCFS Inc. maintain knowledge of the program and practice standards approved by the 4DCFS Board of Directors
- Maintain an effective and positive relationship between the program and external partners involved in the lives of the children in care.
- Adhere to all 4DCFS Inc. policy & procedure manuals
- Attendance at staff meetings, training and workshops
- Other duties as requested by immediate supervisor or designate
