Spadina Early Learning and Childcare Cooperative at Victoria School is looking for a part time Preschool Teacher/Support Staff for the 2014-2015 school year. Preschool is 3 days at our Victoria School location and 2 days a week you will be a support staff at our St. Paul's Hospital location.
Spadina ELCC follows the Play & Exploration curriculum therefore knowledge of Play & Exploration is critical in providing an exemplary program under the guidance of the director of Spadina ELCC.
The purpose of the Preschool Program is to promote the physical, intellectual, social and emotional growth of preschool children ages 3-5.
This will be accomplished through the Play & Exploration curriculum planned with the following goals in mind:
* Increase independence
* Enhance a sense of belonging, self-worth, and acceptance
* Develop literacy and communication
* Support age appropriate development (physical, cognitive, emotional, social & spiritual)
*Increase the childs view of themselves as capable and competent learners
* Develop strong relationships with peers, adults and parents.
Requirements:
- Candidate must be able to develop and implement preschool curriculum for children age 3-5.
- Candidate must be able to work independently and have great organizational and time management skills.
- Early Childhood Education Level 3 or a Bachelor of Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood
- Knowledge & experience with the Play & Exploration curriculum.
- Up-to-date Criminal Record Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
