The University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Tier II Canada Research Chair (CRC) in the area of Natural Resources, Law and Policy. The institutional support package that accompanies the CRC provides funds to support students as well as research and comes with reduced teaching responsibilities.
The successful candidate will lay out a vision for developing a research partnership between Law and SENS, as well as for building on an international reputation as a recognized leader in the field.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in law or a JD (or equivalent) as well as a PhD in an appropriate field although variations upon these requirements are possible in the context of an appropriate strong terminal degree that prepares the individual for scholarship in the area of the CRC. The candidates terminal degree must have been obtained within the last ten years. A proven track record of peer-reviewed publication and externally funded research is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students is required.

The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenured or tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level (the salary bands for this position are as follows: Assistant Professor $86,844 - $104,357 and Associate Professor $104,357 - $121,871) and will be nominated for a Tier II CRC.
