Description

Caron Transportation Systems is currently looking for a Lead Hand for the Saskatoon Terminal. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday and will occasionally be on-call.

Job Duties:
Operational Responsibilities
o Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of the shop with direction provided by the Terminal Manager
o Service, adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
o Read and understand work orders, task procedures, and interpret technical manuals
o Work with Crew Leads and Terminal Managers to resolving work issues by providing updates on completed, in progress, and to be scheduled work
o Answer shop phone and deal with requests
Administration Responsibilities
o Write service reports, diagnose the cause of failures and keep service analysis records
o Track inventory
o Coordinate with dispatch to schedule repairs, CVIPs, PMIs, and safety inspections
o Compose and review POs for TM approval
Employee Management Responsibilities
o Coordinate with HR Department and Terminal Manager regarding employee hiring, retention, discipline, and terminations
o Manage break times to ensure all lunch and break timings are adhered to
o Motivate technicians to maintain high productivity
o Inform Terminal Manager of any and all issues that occur during shift
o Must be willing to mentor and assist apprentices
Safety Management Responsibilities
o Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed
o Report and work related injuries
o Report any vehicle damage by generating NCR
o Participate in all safety related programs and education
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by Caron Transport and the industry as a whole
    Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor/management
