Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson
(Lead Hand)
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Technician maintains, repairs, and rebuilds heavy equipment in a safe, efficient, and capable manner in our Saskatoon branch. This position will have Lead Hand responsibilities which include supporting technicians to work in a safe, efficient and capable manner.
This position will work a 5x2 rotation from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Duties included, but not limited to:
- Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues.
- Assist in repairing equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.
- Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
- Complete paperwork required in a timely manner in order to support technical warranty claims.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
- Guide, support, and mentor shop personnel.
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
- Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Construction, forestry, and heavy equipment repair experience.
- Supervisory experience an asset
- Experience working with Komatsu and Wirtgen equipment is an asset.
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
