Supervised by the Dental Program Manager, the Dental Assistant aids the Dentist using fourhanded dentistry, maintaining and organizing files and performing a wide variety of tasks. As required, the Dental Assistant performs unsupervised dental procedures within his/ her professional scope of practice. The Dental Assistant demonstrates exceptional hygiene and sterilization practices at all times.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Assist in dental procedures with competence and high standards, using fourhanded dentistry.
Chart and organize files while patients are being examined.
Constant assessment of patient while dental work is being performed.
Perform necessary medical emergency procedures when needed.
Practice and maintain proper asepsis and sterilization practices on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Perform unsupervised dental procedures, within his/ her scope of practice, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12
One (1) year Dental Assistant course from a recognized institution
Certification with Saskatchewan Dental Assistants Association and Canadian Dental Assistant Association
Valid drivers license
Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
OTHER PERTAINENT INFORMATION:
Shared, furnished accommodations provided while in the community
Starting Wage: $33.65 per hour
Two (2) to three (3) weeks per month required, scheduled in accordance with the dentists availability.
