OVERVIEW
SRCs Energy Division is seeking a Project Assistant to prepare and evaluate chemicals (mainly alkali, surfactant and polymer) for enhanced oil recovery research. This is a term position, from September to December 2014.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
As part of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Processes Business Unit, you will:
-Prepare chemical solutions and perform a broad range of routine and complex laboratory experiments
-Assist in writing standard operating procedures, generate lab reports for analysis and support maintenance of quality control guidelines
-Perform repetitive tasks that require patience and attention to detail
QUALIFICATIONS
-Undergraduate degree or at least two years of study in chemistry or a related major that requires laboratory experimental skills
-Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices and Microsoft Word and Excel
-Working knowledge of conventional analytical equipment
SKILLS
-Ability to maintain focus for long periods of time
-Team player with effective interpersonal, communication and multi-tasking skills
-Strong troubleshooting skills and an understanding of quality control and quality assurance in the laboratory
You will be required to work safely with petroleum and chemical products.
This position is located in Regina, Saskatchewan.
