The Department of Native Studies at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for a tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applicants will have a Ph.D. or be near completion in Indigenous Studies, a related discipline, or interdisciplinary program, and have demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, publication, and Indigenous community engagement.
We are seeking a scholar with specializations in Indigenous histories and cultures. Priority will be given to candidates who work with Indigenous knowledge; engage in innovative learning, teaching, research, and creative practices; have a demonstrated commitment to Aboriginal engagement and community-based research; and have a solid background in the Canadian Indigenous context. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the core curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, mentor students, liaise with Indigenous communities and organizations, actively participate in program development and administration, contribute to the ongoing development of curriculum, and maintain an active research program. Proficiency in one of the seven Indigenous languages in Saskatchewan is an asset.
