As the new Managing Director, you will report to the Vice-President Research and work closely with all of the universitys colleges, departments, centres, and schools to:
Foster a culture of commercialization.
Provide the strategic and operational leadership required by the universitys research community to ensure that its efforts are effectively commercialized.
Proactively articulate and develop the universitys commercialization profile and partnership potentials internally and with public and private sectors, industry.
Provide a leadership for the development of a comprehensive and integrated intellectual property policy framework allowing for effective intellectual property management that supports both institutional and provincial interests.
Foster excellent collaborations and alliances locally, regionally, nationally and internationally with internal and external clients, stakeholders and partners.
Create and deliver programs to raise awareness of the capabilities of the Industry Liaison Office.
Lead a dedicated and highly capable team to ensure the vital work of the Office meets the needs of the universitys researchers and the expectations of both external and internal stakeholders.
Start date is September 15th, 2014 or a mutually agreed date.
Starting salary range: $112,500 to $180,000.
