Collaborate with fellow regional colleagues in pioneering exciting standards of digital and print services. Work comfortably with residents from farming areas, cities, First Nations, towns and villages, library board members, plus elected and government officials. Advise residents and local library boards in assessing and communicating customer service needs throughout Wapiti Region, such as Aboriginal, literacy, and newcomers programs. Share responsibility for system wide digital and print materials selection plus monitoring and coordination of acquisition budget control. Compile reports, assist with planning and aiding rural community branch library boards and staff. Possess proven management skill-set including effective communication and evidence based decision making. Perform within frame of reference and direction provided from Director and Regional Executive, building community partnerships, advocacy, and granting initiatives. Potential moving allowance is available.
REQUIRED:ALA accredited MLIS degree, minimum one year sr. management experience in Public Library, preferably a Multi-board Regional setting. Demonstrated system-wide materials selection responsibility, familiarity with integrated library system (Millenium/Sierra),current blended digital and print services. Effective communication, public speaking and presentation skills, demonstrated experience with digital media and social networking tools. Valid drivers license and Drivers Record Information. Travel required.
DESIRED:Compiling major reports, policy consultation for approval, grant proposal writing, working knowledge of local Library Boards and staff, experience with First Nations and Metis communities and elected municipal stakeholders.
