The Saskatchewan Prairie Conservation Action Plan is looking for an energetic, creative, responsible, detailed-oriented individual to coordinate, plan and deliver our education programs on a contract basis. This individual will be supervised by the PCAP Manager. This is a WORK-FROM-HOME position, LOCATION NEGOTIABLE.
PCAP has two curriculum-supported prairie conservation education programs for the upcoming school year (2014-15).
Adopt a Rancher (AAR) connects students in participating Grade 10 classrooms with a local rancher to learn about native prairie stewardship.
Taking Action for Prairie (TAFP) is a program for Grades 6-8 classrooms, students develop action plans to implement in their own community.
Responsibilities:
Act as the PCAP liaison with the relevant PCAP Partners, schools and ranchers participating in the education programs;
Contact schools to communicate information about education programs, schedule and confirm outreach visits;
Assist in the development and revision of education program activities;
Organize delivery logistics (travel, timetables);
Collect materials and supplies for school resource kits and visits;
Compile teacher evaluation summaries;
Complete funding applications and reports;
Lead additional staff (as needed) during TAFP program delivery at schools;
Participate in other education opportunities, including Agri-Ed Showcase and Ag In the City.

Experience in delivering interpretive programming to elementary & high school students, including knowledge of extension and interpretive techniques.
