Description

The CUMFI Wellness Center is seeking a House Parent, to support individuals with FASD with a philosophy of building on strengths and supporting challenges. This will require providing one on one support as well as working with the CUMFI Wellness team and the various professionals, housing resources, and support agencies to coordinate meeting the daily living, health, financial and social needs of individuals living with FASD.
Ideal Candidate will:
- Reside in the suite designated  for the house parent at Hessdorfer House;
- Build positive relationships with each resident;
- Promote positive relationships between residents;
Monitor adherence to rules:
- Banning the presence or use of drugs/alcohol.
- No violence
- Report maintenance matters in a timely manner.
- Attend routine residents meetings; recommend and attend special meetings when emergency or special matters arise.
- Promote acceptable standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in individual suites and throughout the building
With residents, plan group social activities for Sundays
- With residents, plan communal meals, activities, etc. occasionally and help to carry them out
- Provide transportation to appointments for residents when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Have experience in working with youth and adults with cognitive disabilities and significant behavioural, health and mental disorders in a respectful way
-Ability to trouble shoot and fix minor household repairs
-Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Persons check
- Valid Saskatchewan driver's license with an adequate level of insurance that provides coverage for the residents
- Standard Fist Aid Certificate
