Description

Position Details:
Annual contract; Remuneration is commensurate with experience and education.
Possible renewal up to 2 years; Full  time position, 37.5 hours/week. Location: Saskatoon, SK Canada (with travel required provincially.
General Accountability:
The Healthy Start is a provincial and bilingual initiative which will establish regular physical activity, and healthy eating habits among young children (ages 3 to 5). The Healthy Start program will be implemented in pre-kindergarten and early learning and child care centres (in Anglophone and Francophone daycares).  Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator work with the Senior Program Coordinator to provide assistance with the implementation of Healthy Start.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Kinesiology and/or Nutrition, or a diploma in Recreation Studies or Early Childhood Development, or related certification from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
Preference will be given to a resourceful candidate with experience in community development and/or project coordination in health promotion/physical activity/healthy eating and wellness. Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of or experience working in early years environments. An understanding of cultural and diverse communities is an asset. Superior organizational and coordination skills, the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Excellent computer skills (MS Office and Access). Must have a current Saskatchewan Driver's license and ability to travel throughout the province. Effective communication in English and French is essential.
