The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is accepting applications for:
Youth Technicians
For the Computers for Schools, Technical Work Experience Program (TWEP). The Program provides young people aged 15 - 30 with practical, on-the-job experience with training in information and communications technology (ICT). The selected youth will work with computer technology, develop valuable skills through teamwork and project work and gain experience toward future careers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technicians will repair and refurbish computer equipment, sort and test computer software, prepare and package computers for shipment. In addition to practical, marketable work experience, each youth will be allowed and encouraged to search for full-time work throughout their employment with the Program.
TWEP allows youth to gain work experience by focusing in the following areas:
-document management;
-interpreting online technical manuals;
-setting up TCP/IP addresses;
-using diagnostic tools and software;
-erasing, formatting, installing and testing hard drives;
-configuring and diagnosing operating systems;
-installing and testing software
