Job Description

We are searching for a top-notch medical administrative assistant who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the practice of a Head and Neck/Facial Plastic Surgeon. These duties primarily support the work of a surgeons clinical, research, academic and administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications:
    Grade 12 graduate or equivalent required
    Graduate of a recognized Medical Office Administration program preferred.

Skill, Ability and Experience:

    Minimum 3 years of experience providing administrative support, preferably in a surgical practice.
    Minimum 3 years of experience with Accuro, with proficiency in submitting billings and statement of accounts.
    Knowledge of medical terminology required
    Computer skills: Fast and accurate keyboarding skills required (minimum 50 wpm). Must be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite of Products (Excel, PowerPoint and/or similar products).
    Recent experience as a Medical Secretary is preferred.
    Recent experience with patient registration.
    Demonstrated strong, effective communication skills in managing confrontational, confidential and problem-solving situations, often as first contact on behalf of the surgeon. Work performed is confidential and sensitive in nature and therefore requires discretion and tact when dealing with patients and other staff.
    Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail are critical.

Responsibilities

Completes reception and clerical tasks applicable to the needs of the surgeon and is responsible for the tidiness and general appearance of the clinic.
