In this newly created role as Assistant Controller, you will provide bookkeeping and posting services for all aspects of the business.
This will include the following:
- Daily posting and processing of invoices, and
purchase orders with Vendors.
- Maintain Customer, Vendor and Employee records
- Provide regular processing of
- Accounts Receivable statements and
collections
- Accounts Payable payments
- Payroll and government remittances (GST,
PST, Source Deductions)
- Shipping and receiving of inventory.
Requirements
Education:
- Graduate of a recognized Accounting Diploma or
Accounting training program.
- Must have a thorough understanding of
bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting
principles.
Experience:
- 2-5 years relevant bookkeeping experience,
preferably in a small business environment.
Computer:
- Experience working with small-business accounting software is preferred, i.e. BusinessVision, Simply Accounting, QuickBooks.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
Personality Traits:
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, vendors and staff to process orders and billing. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small business environment.
- Motivated and customer-service focused. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
