Description

Saskcan Pulse Trading is a division of Alliance Grain Traders (TSX:AGT), one of the largest lentil and pea splitting companies in the world. As a trusted source for value-added processing of pulses, and staple foods we buy lentils, peas, beans and chickpeas from farmers around our 29 facilities located in some of the best agricultural production regions in Canada, the United States, Turkey, Australia, China and South Africa and ship them to over 100 countries around the globe.

Position:  Financial Analyst

The successful candidate will:
    Perform variance analysis and analytics of accounts and margins
    Prepare/ review various account reconciliations
    Work with operations to provide additional insight into plant reporting and analysis
    Assist in the evaluation and enhancement of existing processes
    Prepare financial reports for distribution to the Management team
    Assist the Grain Controller with the year-end audit
    Completion of internal control testing for Canadian subsidiary
    Assist with external public reporting requirements including preparation of quarterly and annual Financial Statements and Management Discussion and Analysis
    Supervise accounts payable team
    Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives as required

Skills & Abilities:
    University degree or diploma, specializing in accounting
    Professional accounting designation (preferred) or willingness to enroll in a professional designation
    Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
    Strong communication skills and attention to planning, process, and detail
    Must be a self-starter with a positive, entrepreneurial spirit
    Previous supervision experience an asset, but not required
    Experience in Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains accounting an asset, but not required
    Experience in the Agricultural industry, preferred, but not required
