Description

Located out of our Coleville office, the Mechanical Technician role will report to the Supervisor, Pipeline Field Operations for the Mid-Saskatchewan Pipeline System.  This individual in this position will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance and operation of the Coleville Pipeline assets.  The shift will be 8.25 hours per day and five days per week.  

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

Day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment including: centrifugal pumps, gear pumps and IMO screw pumps (including laser alignment), valves and actuators, meters and quality control equipment and pressure safety valve (PSV)
Operational responsibilities include routine pigging operations, strainer maintenance, routine inspections of station sites and mainline block valve sites, and product quality control
Support the company Environment, Health and Safety program
Maintenance of identified critical spare equipment within inventory
Maintain appropriate documents and submit reports as required
Support 24 hour on-call rotation (seven day rotation)

Education, Skills and Experience:

Alberta or Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright
Minimum of Grade 12 education is required
Three to five years related mechanical experience is required
Computer proficiency and excellent interpersonal, problem solving and economic thinking skills are strong assets
Previous operational experience is beneficial
Applicant must be willing to learn and perform operational duties
Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 drivers license
Current H2S Alive, WHMIS and First Aid certifications are an asset

As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
