Description

Under the direction of the Manager of Settlement and Community Support Services you will assist refugee and immigrant students and their families in their transition to a new culture by providing bridges and liaison to community services, providing counselling and practical guidance, supported referrals, case work and coordinating the integration of services. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering services that is the result of collaboration between the Society, Citizenship and Immigration Canada and school boards including the Conseil des ecoles fransaskoises. The position will be located in a community school and will require traveling to other schools in Saskatoon. You will need a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel purposes. Additional language is considered an asset.

**Candidates under consideration will be required to participate in an assessment process consisting of any/all of the following: interview, abilities test, case study and/or presentation.  Only those selected for interviews will be contacted.

**Education and Experience:

-University degree in the social work, education, or related field and, one year of
work experience providing school age children/family counselling services, OR
-Graduate of post secondary program (two years minimum) in the social sciences or
education, and, two years work experience providing school age children/family
counselling services.
-Experience working in a school setting with children, youth, their parents and
teachers and school administrators.
-Training in Adlerian counselling or life skills counselling not mandatory but an
asset.

**Required Licenses and/or Certificates:

-Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) certification - no criminal record (includes Vulnerable Sector Search) must be done within last three months.
