Hector Thiboutot Community School in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan is a designated K-12 community school with approximately 540 students. There is a professional staff compliment of 37 including two vice-principals supported by paraprofessional, clerical and library staff. Sandy Bay is a community of about 1500 located along the Churchill River system 443 km north east of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
This is a full-time, continuing teaching position to start August 25, 2014. The successful candidates must be eligible for Saskatchewan Professional A or Provisional Professional A teaching certification.
The successful candidate will teach Practical and Applied Arts at the high school level. The ability to teach construction, carpentry and welding is desired. This position may include some middle years math and science teaching responsibilities as well.
Salary is according to the provincial grid plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may also be available.
