Description

JA Tech has multiple opportunities for Industrial Electricians with installation experience to join our project team in Saskatoon, SK. This is a 3 month contract role commencing in the first week of September, 2014, and with possible opportunities for permanent extension.  

Working with the technical and construction team, you will maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, commission, install and start-up a range of low, medium and high voltage equipment pieces associated with electrical power systems. As part of this project, you will specificallyfocus on installing switch gear and MCCs, as well as decommissioning older equipment.

Other responsibilities of the role include:

- Conducting work in a manner prescribed by JA Techs Occupational Health and Safety Manual;
- Complying with the Electrical Code, safety standards and other applicable legislation; and
- Performing other duties, as required  

To qualify for the role, you will have an Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrical Certificate (Red Seal preferred) or be a Registered Electrical Apprentice (3rd or 4th year preferred). Previous experience working in an industrial or commercial setting with 600 volt switch gear and MCCs, is highly advantageous. Safety training in Fall Protection, SCOT, CSTS-09 or First Aid is desirable. As a safety conscious company, you will also need CSA approved safety boots. Travel to site is a requirement of the role, so a valid Class 5 Drivers License is essential.

In exchange for your hard work and dedication to the project, a qualified Journeyperson will receive a highly competitive wage of $42 per hour, plus $63 per hour overtime. Contractors who satisfy their contract will be rewarded with a completion bonus of $10 per regular hour worked.  You will also receive paid travel time and a daily allowance (LOA) is also available for eligible candidates.
