Sun West School Division invites applications for a Field Operations Consultant, based out of Sun West Distance Learning Centre. This is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week starting September 2, 2014.  The Field Operations Consultant will provide leadership, support and coordination on all matters related to the development and facilitation of Field Production Operator courses for students, as well as future programming related to the Oil & Gas industry.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
have succesfully completed post-secondary training from a provincially recognized institution;
have 10 or more years of experience in the oil and gas sector that includes working directly on drilling sites for oil and/or gas as well as experience in other aspects related to oil and gas field production operations; and,
having a Power Engineering Certificate would also be considered an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works as a member of the Sun West Distance Learning Centre Team to develop and coordinate Field Production Operations and Oil & Gas Industry programs, and Trades related courses.
Develops online instructional materials.
Develops industry partnerships and coordinates student work placements.
Develops and delivers online industry safety courses for staff and students.
Collaborates with DLC administration and the Superintendents of Education regarding Field Production Operations and Power Engineering online courses and initiatives.
Acts as a liaison between the school division and outside agencies as required.
Completes other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Education  Technology and Distance Learning.
