PSI Technologies is a Saskatchewan based engineering and construction company located in Saskatoon. PSI is a growing company that provides a full suite of engineering, lab testing, numerical modeling, mining, custom equipment fabrication and construction services.
We are currently looking for an experienced and self-motivated full-time civil technologist. This position offers a variety of office and field work on a wide range of infrastructure related projects.
Job responsibilities include:
Conducting field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregate and asphalt concrete including sieve analysis, density testing using nuclear density gauges, preparation of Proctors and Marshall molds, asphalt cement content, sand equivalents, Atterberg limits and moisture content.
Providing quality control and quality assurance on a wide range of laboratory and field testing projects.
Preparing field and testing reports.
Performing preliminary surveying and construction staking and surveying for quantity control. Surveys are completed using GPS, Total Station, transit and levels.
Performing standard borehole logging and in-field soil characterization.
Operating drill trucks, small backhoes, and other construction equipment.
Performing computer-aided drafting using AutoCAD to prepare 2D site plans, cross-sections, maps, diagrams, and profiles using survey data to represent elevations, topographical contours, subsurface formations and structures.
Mechanical 3D modeling of equipment for fabrication and design purposes. Experience with software such as solidworks or inventor is an asset.
Correlating, interpreting, and modifying data obtained from field topographical surveys, stratigraphic logs and site investigations.
Traveling in a field setting.
