Description

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. The FCL Saskatoon Distribution Center invites applications for the position of Logistics Associate.

The position is a Sunday to Thursday shift, reporting to the Transportation and Customer Service Supervisor. Responsibilities for the position include:

1. Prepare and process manifests and trip reports.
2. Work closely with customer service and customers on short or missing product and delivery of late and rush orders.
3. Work with dispatch to co-ordinate the movement of products to regions and retails via FCL truck and/or common carrier.
4. Set up special shipping schedules when required.
5. Process retail claims as required.
6. Audit daily outbound FCL bills of lading and follow up with customers as required.
7. Provide region merchandise departments with freight rate information.
8. Provide back-up services to other TCSU sections as required.
9. Perform all duties associated with the onboard computer system.
10. Process common carrier invoices as required.
11. Other duties as assigned.


The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

1. High school education.
2. Three (3) CITT courses (Transportation Systems, Logistics Processes, and CITT elective), or four (4) classes from the Business Administration Certificate program, or equivalents.
3. Two years related freight experience.
4. Must demonstrate good knowledge of freight industry and terminology.
