Sun West School Division invites applications for a Power Engineering Consultant, based out of Sun West Distance Learning Centre. This is a permanent position, 37.5 hours per week starting on or before August 11, 2014. The Power Engineering Consultant will provide leadership, support and coordination on all matters related to the development and facilitation of power engineering courses for students.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
have succesfully completed post-secondary training in the area of Power Engineering from a provincially recognized institution; Power Engineering Third Class
have 10 or more years of experience in the field to provide the necessary knowledge and skills; and,
Power Engineering Second Class Certificate and experience as an instructor would be considered an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Works as a member of the Sun West Distance Learning Centre Team to develop and coordinate Power Engineering courses.
Develops online instructional materials.
Develops industry partnerships and coordinates student work placements.
Develops and delivers online industry safety courses for staff and students.
Collaborates with DLC administration and the Superintendents of Education regarding Power engineering online courses and initiatives.
Acts as a liaison between the school division and outside agencies as required.
Completes other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Education Technology and Distance Learning.
