Description

As the Hardlines Department Manager, you will be responsible for managing the operations for the hardline departments. You will ensure merchandising standards and strategies are executed and maintained; coordinate employee training; coach and develop employees to provide legendary customer service to build customer loyalty, achieve department sales goals, and facilitate change.

Manage the Gun Counter, Hunting, Archery, Optics, and Fishing departments;
Ensure compliance with all merchandising guidelines;
Carry out planograms, monitor stock levels, and prepare for advertisements, flyers, seasonal items and/or promotions;
Perform Manager on Duty tasks: deal with any customer, employee, or store related issues;
Interview and hire employees, coordinate training, and supervise staff on a daily basis;
Train employees on customer service and build customer loyalty;
Coach and develop department leads and associates, conduct performance reviews, documenting performance issues, and perform disciplinary action when necessary;
Create weekly schedules and maintain payroll accuracy;
Perform store opening, closing and the End of Day e-mail report and cash out;
Have a basic knowledge of products that Cabela's carries, assist customers on the floor during peak sales periods providing a positive influence on leads and sales associates;

Two or more years retail management experience;
Knowledge and experience in sporting goods with a focus on technical outdoor products including Archery, Hunting, Firearms and Fishing;
Firearms Possession and Acquisition License is required;
Good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
Proficient in office software packages (word processing, spreadsheets, Internet, e-mail, etc.) MS Office preferred;
Proven ability to work in a dynamic, continuous improvement environment.
