Description

Northern Konstar Potatoes Ltd.  in Outlook, Saskatchewan, is currently recruiting for a Potato plant breeding assistant to develop and apply potato breeding methods. This position will report to the "Konst Research Potato Innovation".

Main duties:  

1. Providing technical support and services to Konst Research in the Netherlands, agronomist, and other professionals working in the fields of agriculture and Plant research. Also helping in the study of breeding and composition of agriculture for the purpose of improving its nutritional value and quality for the Canadian market.
2. Performing experimental research in agriculture, genotype selection and apply methods to select new characters of traits with aim to create crops that have more yields, resistant to pests, droughts, disease, weeds and other acts of nature.
3. Conducting or supervising operational programs such as greenhouse and crop production programs.
4. Conducting field research and surveys to collect data and samples of water, soil, and plants.
5. Performing technical functions in support of agriculture, variety description and crop research.
6.  Analysis of data and preparation of reports,
7. Conducting and supervising crop harvesting, cleaning, sorting, packaging and storage .You will also ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed.


Employment requirement:
1. Fluent in English (IELTS score equal or higher than 6.5)
2. Having the driving licence and being able to live in the farm is required.
