Railserve is North America's Largest and Safest Rail Switching Company and is rapidly expanding in Canada. We are always looking for a switch people, operators and crew leads to join one of our teams. A crew leaders job is to coordinate and execute rail operations on the ground in conjunction with an operator and switch person. A switch persons job is to help the crew leader in executing those duties. A lot of walking, climbing up and down the side of rail cars, and throwing switches are to be expected. An operator operates the locomotive engines we own onsite taking direction from the crew leader and switch person on the ground. This is a physically demanding job and the weather plays a huge role as you are working outside, depending on the season, in plus 35 degrees with sun or minus 35 with snow and blowing wind.Our dayshift runs Sun-Thurs 6:30am-3pm. Our evening shift runs Mon-Fri 3pm-11:30pm. Overtime and call-ins will happen more often than not. You could be placed on either days or nights, so you should be available for both shifts. Starting wage is $23 per hour. Full benefits come after only 3 months of service including Medical, Dental, and Optical, and more. Railserve gives out quarterly safety bonus based on safe work efforts; and does wage reviews every three months. After one year's of service Railserve's RRSP program kicks in with a percentage matching program.Railserve is contracted to work at PCS Lanigan Mine and Canpotex Staging and Maintenance Facility just south of Guernsey, SK.
Travel to and from site are at the expense of the employee. It is about an hour drive from Saskatoon to Site. Accommodations are NOT provided.
