Description

The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the medical program for the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance Program. This includes supervision and evaluation of the medical care provided by the air medical personnel employed in the program.  The Medical Director position is part-time.  The Medical Director of the Saskatchewan Air Ambulance Program is a Medical Doctor licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Province of Saskatchewan. Experience in both air and ground emergency medical services would be an asset.  The Medical Director is required to be based in Saskatoon.

Qualifications / Requirements of the position  Applicants must have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. Applicants must be certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine or have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or the Canadian College of Family Physicians with an Emergency Medicine certificate (CCFP EM).   The Medical Director must remain current in the provision of care to critically ill and injured patients, commensurate with the mission statement and scope of practice of the Program, and remain actively involved and current with trends in inter-facility, pre-hospital, emergency and critical care medical standards.
