Description

Key Responsibilities:

Develop an estimate or proposal package from beginning to end. This task may include performing, executing, and/or the coordination of all or some of; project take-off (quantity survey) and write-up (primarily electronic input), prepare requests for quotations to suppliers and sub-trade tender packages, develop bid labour and material requirements, complete with pricing and analogy.

Identify/research new vendors, subcontractors and suppliers, both within province and across Canada. Establish new relationships and provide competitive and optimal pricing data. The ability to negotiate and reduce overall project costs including across company bulk purchasing requirements.

Develop proposal letter  including the preparation of our bids, Exceptions and Clarification and Terms and Conditions list, bid breakdowns and tender forms c/w labour and equipment rates.

Understand all tender requirements that may include perusal of bonding, insurance, WCB, and Registration forms.

Understand study drawings, and provide technical valued engineering suggestions to project management team.

Compute costs by analyzing trades and labor, material, cycle times, and costs to complete.

Assist the project management team in developing project budgets.

Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.

Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.

Active participant in project start up and close out meetings.

Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
